Ashby Lodge Boarding Kennels

FAQs

Q: Can I bring toys, blankets or bedding for my dog??

A: Yes, bringing a blanket with your dog’s scent can often help them settle in more quickly. You’re more than welcome to bring your dog’s favourite blankets or toys; however, please be mindful that items can become damaged or misplaced during their stay. We recommend only bringing items that you are comfortable potentially losing or having damaged.

Q: Is food included during my dog’s stay, and what if it’s not suitable for them??

A: During their stay, your dog will be fed a premium kibble included in the cost of boarding.

If your dog has specific dietary requirements or allergies you will need to supply their own food for the duration of their stay.

Please ensure you inform us of any allergies or special dietary needs so we can provide the best possible care.

Q: Can we administer medication??

A: Yes, if your dog requires regular medication, we’re happy to administer it at no additional charge. Simply provide clear instructions and any necessary supplies.

Q: What vaccinations are required??

A: Boarding facilities require dogs to be up to date with a C5 (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Bordetella bronchiseptica and Parainfluenza) or C7 Vaccine (C5 vaccine plus Leptospirosis and Canine Coronavirus). C5 or C7 vaccinations are required every 12 months, so please ensure your dog’s vaccinations are current. If a booster is required, it must be administered at least 7 days prior to your dog’s stay to allow time for full effectiveness and to ensure the safety of all dogs in our care.

Q: Do dogs socialise during their stay??

A: No, dogs from different households are not placed together. While they may be able to see and interact with other dogs from adjoining yards, they are housed and exercised separately. This policy is in place to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and comfort of every dog in our care. However, dogs from the same family may be housed and exercised together, depending on their compatibility and your preferences.
