Ashby Lodge Boarding Kennels is proudly owned and operated by Allan and Elle Manwaring, who bring over 20 years of hands on experience working with dogs of all breeds and temperaments. They are also supported by their family, and you may occasionally see their children around the property, with Tom a valued and permanent member of the team.

Our deep love for animals is reflected in everything we do. As active greyhound trainers, our passion for greyhound racing has given us valuable insight into canine behaviour, health, and overall wellbeing.

At Ashby Lodge, your dog is treated like one of our own — with genuine care, patience, and plenty of love. We take the time to get to know each dog individually, understanding their personality, preferences, and needs to ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy during their stay. Whether it’s extra cuddles, a favourite toy, or sticking to a familiar routine, we go the extra mile to make your dog feel at home.

ABOUT THE KENNELS

Our kennels are a fully insulated besser block structure, equipped with ceiling fans and air conditioning to ensure a comfortable environment all year round. The kennel block faces east, allowing for gentle morning sunlight, which helps keep the area warm in winter and cool in summer. Each kennel is securely enclosed with solid brick walls to ensure both privacy and safety, and is cleaned and disinfected daily using a dog safe kennel wash. To create a calm and soothing atmosphere, relaxing music is played throughout the day. 

Our residence is situated just 40 metres from the kennels, ensuring dedicated care and supervision 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For added peace of mind, we also have access to 24 hour veterinary support, with a trusted veterinary clinic located within the Shoalhaven area — ready to provide immediate assistance should your pet require urgent medical attention.

The safety of your dogs is our top priority with each dog housed and exercised separately to ensure a calm and incident free environment. Only dogs from the same household or those with a proven, established relationship will be housed together.
